Spatiotemporal Evolution of Crop Planting Structure in the Black Soil Region of Northeast China: A Case Study in Hailun County

Detailed characteristics of crop planting structure (CPS) evolution can inform the optimization yield proportion in black soil region Northeast China (BSRNC). Choosing Hailun County as an example, this study sought to analyze geographic CPS from 2000 2020. Our analysis produced new spatiotemporal information based on remote-sensing interpretation data, namely, Landsat4-5 TM, Landsat7 ETM+, and Landsat8 OLI images. The characterized temporal spatial dynamics CPS. results showed following: (1) Soybean maize were main crops, with a total land area 70%; they alternated most dominant crop. (2) distribution breadth aggregation intensity soybean spatially complementary; rice had smallest range but strong water aggregation. (3) pattern was interconversion between single type maize. indicate that future adjustment BSRNC needs consider county-level distribution. This context has excellent implications geographically informing policymaking adjust BSRNC, thus safeguarding food security.
